Eurovision: Outfit Inspo for the Perfect Party

It’s nearly that time of year again. Get ready for the drama. The tears. The joy. And the gloriously, no-holds-barred campness of it all.

That’s right, the Eurovision song contest is fast approaching. And after Sam Ryder’s 2022 performance saw the UK nab second place behind Ukraine’s winning entry, who knows what could happen when Mae Muller takes to the stage this year.

With around 160 million people tuning in to catch the musical and sartorial thrills and spills, and the live shows taking place in Liverpool, the spotlight will be on the North West in May.

Where To Celebrate

Tickets to the live events were snapped up record time – just 36 minutes for the grand final and 90 minutes for dress rehearsals and semi-finals.

If you managed to nab a ticket, we raise our sequined hats to you; you’re going to have a blast! But if you didn’t, there’s still plenty of fun to be had. With events happening all over the North West (and beyond) you’re sure to get the full dose of all things Eurovision. As part of a two-week cultural festival happening in Liverpool from 1st May, there’s the ‘National Lottery’s Big Eurovision Welcome on Sunday 7th May, hosted by AJ Odudu at Liverpool’s St George’s Hall. Other events include a submarine street parade, a rave that will take place simultaneously in Kyiv, and an outdoor operatic Eurovision concert. Just a stone’s throw away from the Liverpool Arena (the venue for the live shows) you’ll find the Eurovision Village. Holding up to 25,000 people, it’s going to be one hell of a party.

Meanwhile in Manchester, one of the cities shortlisted to host the Eurovision, there will be big screens, sing-alongs, parties, club nights and much more all designed to help you celebrate the big night in style.

How To Party In Style

If you’re planning to attend or host a Eurovision party, you want your outfit to be big, bold and brazen. Why not recycle it for summer parties and holiday looks?

Here are a few outfit ideas to get you ready for the 67th edition of Eurovision.

Camp it up

One way to nail the Eurovision party look is with sequins. So, what better than this sequin playsuit by Forever Unique, with plunging neckline and tie waist? Team with your favourite heels and get ready to party the night away. These Party Heels by Melissa smell like bubblegum - if they don’t scream Eurovision, we don’t know what does.

Embrace your inner ABBA

ABBA’s winning performance of Waterloo in 1974 has gone down in history as one of the competition’s most iconic moments. Channel your own 1970’s vibes with these retro Vila flared jeans. Pair with a statement top and you’ll be transformed into Anni-Frid or Agnetha before you know it.

Men go big on colour and print

Eurovision has had more than its fair share of eye-catching outfits over the years. But just a few bold colours and loud prints are enough to make a show-stopping statement. Why not try this aquamarine short-sleeve shirt by BOSS for size? Or, go for a flowery print, like this stylish shirt by Tommy Hilfiger.

Don’t let the kids miss out on the fun

Make sure the kids stay on brand with their own slice of Eurovision style - à la flags and rainbows. The Union flag is the obvious choice, but why not lend your support to our European cousins with this Norway-inspired tee by Napapijri? Meanwhile, she will love wearing all the colours of the rainbow in this neon dress by Billieblush.
